With a background in Criminal Justice and History, Gage Mele began his cyber threat intelligence (CTI) career at a small CTI shop in New Hampshire. He's always been fascinated with criminology, and utilizes human behavior and technical aspects when he analyzes cyber activity. Thinking like the threat actors is one of his favorite parts of his job, and understanding how cybercriminals think will help us be proactive in our defenses.

Title of Talk: Log4Shell and Its Aftermath: A Threat Actor Perspective

Description of Talk: In this talk, we will explore some of the events and context surrounding the Log4Shell vulnerability. We will begin from when it was first discovered, analyze subsequent aftermath, and identify which threat actors are known to exploit this vulnerability. During this discussion, we will also explore what other things actors were doing during this time period that may have been overshadowed by Log4Shell.
